Random newspaper days...
advice from  Betty Medford who was lifestyle editor at the SMDR when I was chasing down feature stories.
....."Julie, always remember when you write about  events at the
Charles S.  Cock House, don't just write...... " The Cock House"..... ALWAYS, always, say
The Charles S. Cock House."

Betty winked when she said that.....

Single....NOT BY CHOICE!.....Dining for One

Not by choice....or what I like to call  - dining with ME paying the tab - I just figured out that I can eat a salad a day, with a can of tuna fish or chicken salad  just get the Subway salad add your tuna or chicken or sandwich meat and you can have a great once a day healthy meal for 7 bucks x 30 that's  210 bucks a month and you don't have to cut veggies you can buy the meat at the dollar store LOL....and have the most healthy meal  (if you wash the salad before you eat it) and  lose weight too.

Also if you don't like going to restaurants by yourself, I  do, because I find it way interesting.

You can see where they prefer to seat ONE person, usually in a lousy location.....ask for prime seating!  Take a book and a laptop and you will find it's a great way to  get business done and  not have to have one conversation that you find boring or "heard that before".   Not that I don't love going out to eat with friends, but one of our favorite things to do as a couple ....before..... was going out to eat, usually six days a week and I really miss that, so I decided to continue the tradition and not feel like a fifth wheel.  I call it "adaptation".
Next up furniture shopping for ONE....why wearing less clothing will get you  a better deal......details later~

Many Moments of Silence Please!

Sometimes the best way to process disaster  and grief is to not talk about it to the world but capture the essence of what is truly happening in your personal world in solitude.  For me this is just such an occasion, once you read this account from April 15, I believe you will  also need your "moment of silence"........
